Royal Caribbean
The backbone of Bayonne sailings, from short Bermuda getaways to longer Caribbean runs on the big, amenity-packed ships. We've sailed the fleet, Star Class and standard balcony alike.
Cape Liberty sits 25 minutes from Manhattan in Bayonne, NJ. No flights, no airport mornings. Drive, park, and step aboard. We handle the rest, with the perspective that only comes from sailing these exact ships.

A more grown-up, design-forward vibe out of the same port. Ideal for couples and anyone who wants the cruise without the waterslide soundtrack.
Ships move in and out of Bayonne by season, and the rare itineraries (long Caribbean runs, short Canada getaways) are easy to miss. We watch the schedules so you don't have to, and tell you when one is worth booking.

Four ships to know out of Bayonne, NJ, based on what Royal Caribbean and Celebrity have announced as of September 2026. Deployments change, so treat this as the lay of the land and let us confirm exact dates.
7- and 9-night Bahamas sailings in summer 2026 (Perfect Day at CocoCay, Nassau, and Port Canaveral), then 7-night CocoCay and Nassau getaways starting May 2027. After that summer, Royal Caribbean moves Oasis to Fort Lauderdale for November 2027.
7- and 8-night winter sailings to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay, plus 11- and 12-night summer runs around the Caribbean (St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados). From November 2027, 7- to 12-night Caribbean vacations. It's the ship I toured at the pier.
Summer 5- and 9-night Bermuda and Eastern Caribbean getaways, then 4-night Canada shorts and 9-night runs to the Caribbean and to Boston and Portland, Maine. In spring and summer 2027: 4- to 9-night sailings to Bermuda, Canada, New England, and the Eastern Caribbean, including Grand Turk, Willemstad, and Halifax.
Celebrity's Cape Liberty ship, with Bermuda as the headline itinerary. The grown-up pick out of the same terminal.

The signature Cape Liberty run. Two or three nights at sea, then days docked in Bermuda. Pink-sand beaches without ever changing time zones.
Longer sailings south to the islands and private destinations. The easiest way to reach the Caribbean from the tri-state area without a single flight.
Short Canada getaways and longer runs up the coast to Boston, Portland, Saint John, and Halifax. Lobster, lighthouses, and the best fall foliage you'll see from a balcony.

The terminal sits on the peninsula off the east end of Bayonne. The Port Authority lists it at 14 Port Terminal Boulevard, Bayonne, NJ 07002; use the address in your cruise documents for GPS. And if you've seen it called "Port Liberty," that's a nickname: Port Liberty is a separate cargo terminal operator. Your ship leaves from Cape Liberty Cruise Port.
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 14A, then Route 440 South to Port Terminal Boulevard. Royal Caribbean lists parking at $35 per day, taxes included, in the garage next to the terminal. No reservation needed and a spot is guaranteed. The garage clears 7'4"; taller vehicles use the open lot beside it and pay double. That rate is as of September 2026, so check before you go.
Newark Liberty International is the closest airport, about 9 miles from the port, so it's a short taxi or rideshare. JFK and LaGuardia work too, but you're crossing the city, so budget more time. If you're flying in, fly the day before. Never same-day.
Take PATH to Jersey City or Hoboken, then the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to 34th Street in Bayonne. That stop is about 2 miles from the terminal, and you can't walk into the port (it's vehicle-only), so finish the trip by taxi or rideshare.
Every guest has to arrive in a vehicle, so a friend's car, a taxi, or a rideshare to the terminal is the easy move if you'd rather not pay for a week of parking. Whoever drives you, keep passports, documents, and meds in your carry-on, not your checked bag.
I'm based in West Orange, NJ, about 25 minutes from the pier, and I've walked Odyssey of the Seas at Cape Liberty on a freezing winter morning. This is what I tell every client leaving from Bayonne.

Same fare as booking direct, but with a family-run agency that picks up when your plans wobble, with a Plan B already drafted.
Plan my Cape Liberty cruise →Cape Liberty Cruise Port is in Bayonne, New Jersey, roughly 25 minutes from Midtown Manhattan and easy to reach from across the tri-state area. For travelers in northern New Jersey it's often the most convenient port, and there's on-site parking right at the terminal so you can drive, park, and walk aboard.
The most popular sailings are to Bermuda, the Caribbean and Bahamas, and Canada and New England in the fall. Itineraries range from quick 5-night Bermuda getaways to longer Caribbean voyages, so there's something for a first cruise or a milestone trip.
No, that's the whole appeal. You can drive to Bayonne, park at the port, and step aboard. No airfare, no baggage fees, no airport mornings. It's the simplest way to cruise from the New York and New Jersey area.
Royal Caribbean is the anchor line at Cape Liberty, and Celebrity Cruises sails from the same terminal on Celebrity Silhouette. We track the current schedules and match you to the right ship and itinerary for your travel style.
Per Royal Caribbean's announcements, Oasis of the Seas (summer 2026, and from May 2027), Odyssey of the Seas (Bahamas in winter, longer Caribbean runs, and 7- to 12-night Caribbean sailings from November 2027), and Independence of the Seas (Bermuda, Canada, New England, and the Eastern Caribbean). Celebrity Silhouette sails from Cape Liberty too. Deployments shift, so we confirm the current schedule when you ask.
Not officially. The cruise terminal in Bayonne is Cape Liberty Cruise Port, and that's the name on your cruise documents. You'll see it called Port Liberty online, but Port Liberty is also the name of a separate container terminal company that runs a cargo terminal in Bayonne. For a cruise, you want Cape Liberty.
As of September 2026, Royal Caribbean lists parking at $35 per day, taxes included, in the garage next to the terminal, with no reservation needed. Oversized vehicles park in the open lot and pay double. Rates change, so check your cruise line or the port before you go.
Newark Liberty International (EWR), about 9 miles from the port. There are no flights to Bayonne itself, so fly into Newark, ideally the day before, and take a taxi or rideshare to the terminal. JFK and LaGuardia also work but mean a longer ride across the city.
Partway. From Manhattan, take PATH to Jersey City or Hoboken, then the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to 34th Street in Bayonne, about 2 miles from the terminal. The port doesn't allow guests to arrive on foot, so finish the trip by taxi or rideshare.
Arrive inside the arrival slot you picked during online check-in; it's on your boarding pass. On Royal Caribbean, finish check-in in the app at least 3 days out, and remember everyone must be checked in and aboard at least 90 minutes before port operations close.
If you live in the tri-state area, you usually don't need to: drive in that morning. If you're flying in, stay near Newark Airport or in Bayonne or Jersey City so the morning ride to the pier is short. We'll suggest options that fit your arrival time.
You pay the same fare, but you get a human who's actually sailed these ships, plus access to perks, upgrades, onboard credit, and loyalty programs, and someone on your side if anything goes sideways before or during your trip.
